Old gasometer, by Harbour Road, Inverness. From the icy walk to work, after dropping off the car for an exhaust repair. Unfortunately it was the expensive bit, the catalytic converter, but not so bad, being for a small and common car.
Looking back, I found that it had been replaced seven years ago, when the car was seven years old. It's life seems more dependant on age than mileage, as the first one only lasted 40,000 miles, and the second only 20,000. If this new one lasts 10,000 miles I'll be very surprised, considering how everything else seems to be rapidly rusting away. It's not in the best of shape.
The previous owner must have had some sort of bump. That wasn't obvious when I bought it. The rust around the repaired area is, now. Suspect they also stayed by the sea, judging by how the rest of it is fairing.
