Back home.

A wonderful weekend.

Yesterday’s lunch at The Rex Whistler Restaurant at Tate Britain was better than ever. A quick wander through the gallery and then my favourite bus journey on the number 87 up to Covent Garden.

“Semiramide”, the Rossini Opera was stunningly good. The voices and acting were superb. It was the first time I’d seen Lawrence Brownlee live - a very special tenor who could give JDF a run for his money.....

Joyce DiDonato was fabulous as ever.

A very slow and silly train home. Nearly empty as we left Euston but every seat was marked Reserved, and the train manager kept welcoming us to “Pendolino X-men”. Bizarre.

Meanwhile this geranium had survived and I love the splash of colour.
