to Be Reunited
My neighbour Geoffrey has been on the receiving end of some remarkable family history sleuthing.
Here he is holding a picture of his uncle Colonel WAW Crellin late of 15th Btn Sherwood Forresters. You can read from the inscription on the photograph just how poignant it is.
He did not know of the existence of this photograph until he was contacted by a family member. Information came to light that this photograph had been amongst the colonel's personal possessions on the battlefield and had been passed to his bat man Frank Powdrill who survived the war and died in 1964.
Frank's granddaughter contacted Geoffrey and here you now see the two together again.
A lovely picture of dedication on all fronts.
