A familiar reflection . .

. . . y'acht to see it!

This display was a very small part of a huge collection of paper yachts, suspended in the window of an empty shop in Oban. I think it was something to do with the Winter Festival, which ended today. The end was marked by a dramatic firework display a mere 150 yards away from our house at McCaig's Tower. Spectacular though it was, it terrified our cats as did the last show on Guy Fawkes' Night. I can't imagine the nervous state of thousands of pets and wild animals and birds who are within hearing and viewing range of these displays - though of course the government has declared that animals are not sentient beings, so it's OK. Ha! I'm not sure why my two cats went and hid then, one under the dining table and other outside somewhere - she came in eventually, soaked to the skin. Maybe we should start a campaign for silent fireworks - after all, it's mostly the sight of them which is so spectacular and not the sound.

I took quite a few pictures of the yachts, but chose the one which showed the reflection of the Tower.
