It took 15 hours for duty Dr to turn up and write a prescription for more morphine and a sedative (finally) at 11.00am this morning, after a traumatic night for my Dad who was with Mum all the time.

However the Dr forgot to sign her name correctly so it took another 5 hours to be in receipt of the drugs.

Mum was in pain, writhing and very alert for 25 hours.  (The 11.00am morphine dose was not enough to stop her pain).  So Mum has been alert enough in this time to recognise her grandchildren, but it has been excruciating for them to see her like that.

Finally a sedative was given this afternoon and she has been relaxed and sleeping.
