Beaumaris Castle in the Rain
If you think this photo smacks of 'I'm on a photographic trip and I'm going to take photos even if it kills me', you're right.
I signed up for a 2-day photography workshop in Anglesey but unfortunately it was cancelled. I had booked accomodation on a non-cancellation deal so decided to come anyway. The course leader has offered me a one-to-one day tomorrow and I shall enjoy a day out on my own on Tuesday. I arrived in Beaumaris in the early evening, having watched a lovely sunset develop as I drove across North Wales. There had been a few showers on the way but as I got closer it turned into steady rain.
I checked into the hotel and had a meal, then girded my loins and went out with a camera. I thought a night shot of the illuminated castle would be the thing. With the rain falling I decided it would be futile to take a tripod as the long exposure would only increase the likelihood of raindrops on the lens.
A few shots have come out OK and just needed a little denoising with the high ISO used.
