Rainy Roadworks in Plymouth
Today, forewarned that all roads leading to Plymouth hospitals were surrounded by roadworks, we set off good and early for the Peninsula, where Mr PP had his hip assessment. They warned him the whole series of today's procedures and check-ups would take around three hours; in fact it was nearer five. A long day! But a good result. The consultant is happy to replace Mr PP's hip in the spring of next year. All being well, that allows us our annual trip to the warmth of Madeira before he's laid up.
The black and white chimney peeping over the trees in the background of the top picture belongs to Derriford - Plymouth's General Hospital, but the Peninsula specialises in joint surgery. It has a good reputation, so we came away feeling reasonably happy. Exhausted, mind you!
