Seasonal experiments

Four weeks to go, and we've been so busy doing other things that we haven't really thought about the festive season or started any Christmas preparations as yet.

However, about  month ago I put some fruit to soak in alcohol so, if nothing else, there will be some warming seasonal tipples! Raspberry vodka, and two rather more experimental concoctions - dried-apricot, orange and star anise vodka and dried-apricot, orange and star anise brandy. This evening I bottled them. The experimental drinks smell amazing and - OK, I admit to tasting just a teeny little bit of each - taste rather good too. Hopefully, in a month's time they'll taste even better. Now we have to resist temptation until Solstice night...
