Winter is coming

Dark by 4:30 now. Kids don't seem to be affected by the shorter days. As long as the car snack includes popcorn and we can talk about everything they think they would like for Christmas. They've been told by the adults that making a list makes shopping for them easier but even so, the last item on all three lists is 'surprise me'. That's the one I'm going for.
