He's Got the Whole World in His Hands
David Pollock, rock sculptor, is somewhat of a fixture on the cliff path, stacking stones to remarkable heights and balancing shapes that the rush of a passing bird's wing could unseat. Watching him work is a meditation for both the artist and the viewer--you hold your breath as he places one rock, then another. His connection to the stones is palpable as he approaches the structure, feeling, testing, sensing what comes next. Being in that space with him felt holy. A regular guy with a unique vision--it's worth reading the article about him in our local paper.
