Mercat Cross, Melrose.

On my way to work this afternoon, I dropped in to the pharmacy in Melrose to pick up my prescriptions. I always get a laugh with the girls in the dispensary, even although none of them worked with me when I worked there in 2009 - 2010. I got transfer from the store in Aviemore when I moved down here, but the only hours available at that time were on a Saturday. It wasn’t long before I managed to get a job temping at the council five mornings a week as well.

I’ve always liked the mercat cross here, with its unicorn on the top. The unicorn is the heraldic supporter for the Sottish Royal Arms.
