Motif #1
We took a trip with Connie up the North Shore today, first to Salem to see the Ansel Adams exhibition at the Peabody Essex, then to Gloucester and Rockport. We made it to Motif #1 just as the sun was disappearing over the horizon - the penalty for starting out late at this time of year (Grrr! - Yes, I was grumpy about the late start).
We were determined to finish off the day with some New England lobster so we headed up the coast to Essex. After a couple of false starts (restaurant too full, or all out) we ended up with lobster mac and cheese (surprisingly delicious) and lobster linguine (equally good) at Tom Shea's. We would have had a fantastic view of the salt marshes if it wasn't actually dark. Grrr again.
But all in all, a fabulous day out.
