Bright green
13C with thin cloud and a very light breeze.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. There was a tractor in the field across the road at the side of our house towing the baling equipment up and down the rows of straw and making bales. Another vehicle has been arriving with an empty trailer then loading bales and towing them away all morning. It won't be long before the whole field is cleared.
We took our usual route up by the church and along to the field we walk down. We haven't used the bridle path for quite a while as the field has been harvested and it is easier to walk in the stubble. The path has become quite overgrown. As we reached the top of the short slope into the field I spotted a deer in the middle of the field. I tried to walk very slowly and quietly with Maeve towards the rows of bales to use them as a hide, but the deer must have spotted us or heard us as it lifted its head then turned and trotted off towards the far side of the field through the rows of unbaled straw. I was content to have seen it. Maeve was oblivious to the whole event.
We carried on down the field then along the cycle path. Today we crossed back over the road and took some pictures of the bales and the thin layer of cloud. The sky looked quite milky and very different from the last few clear days. Back over the road, through the little field with the sheep and over the level crossing to the beach. Quite deep dry loose sand and seaweed to plod through today.
'Valhalla VI' is out of the water and on its trailer on the dry sand near the Fishermen's huts with the trailer sitting on sheets of corrugated metal. Maeve and I had a look round and took a shot or two. We found some very bright green fishing line and got a shot of that on some pebbles with some Sea Glass, shells, and an interesting split small pink stone.
Later, as we were approaching home, we met our next door neighbour going for a bus. He said he had mistakenly taken in our bin after they had been emptied and since he has already put things in it could we just switch back next time they are emptied. Seems like a reasonable solution :-)
