Keep flowering

I got a present of a cutting of a pelargonium in the Spring but there were no  appearance of any buds so just put it out in the garden to harden. Just thought it wouldn't flower but got a lovely surprise when I went to take it in about a fortnight ago to protect it from the frost -  it had loads of buds on it. They are starting to open up now so just hope I can keep it alive over the winter. I'm not good at over wintering plants but will need to try my best.
