The Coreoptis Legend

At this time of the year in the Blue Mountains literally millions of these Coreoptis flowers in Bloom. This image was taken on Shipley Rd on our way home from the movies this afternoon. Rumour has it that many years ago a lover of colour threw handfuls of seed from the train window to produce the phenomenon that now delights many tourists as they travel by train to the mountains. The flower is considered a weed by bush care environmentalists and as you can see has now started spreading further afield than the railway line.
