Wellington

Backblip.

A long day again with a drive to Picton to catch the Interisland Ferry fot the 3 hour crossing from South to North Island and the capital of New Zealand, Wellington.

This view was taken from the top of Mount Victoria and shows not just the city and coastline, but also the beautiful tui bird. We have heard them everywhere on our trip, but rarely saw them, so this was a real treat.

The afternoon was taken up by a visit to the Te Papa Museum, which would have been more interesting had the guide not been so boring and difficult to hear against all the background noise! We snuck off from the group and did our own tour, including the very moving exhibition about Gallipoli.

No free wifi in hotel, but we were warned that even the paid for package was rubbish, so we didn’t bother.
