On the first day of Christmas

When is the first day of Christmas?

12 days? Must be Christmas Day and then after - but the trees have already started going up...

As I left for work yesterday I stopped next to our neighbours; they of the tree of ultimate happiness... ‘when is the tree of wonder appearing’

Wife looked confused. I pointed to tree - Christmas lights, I said. Oh she said and shook her head.

But, i said, do you know how happy it makes me? It makes my heart sing!

I looked at her husband ... and petted my lip. She’s got to let me, he said. I turned and petted my lip again at wife. And she laughed.

As I drove out this morning, they were both scraping the car; I nodded at tree, winked wildly, and touched my nose.
