Stupa

Loved this ruined Stupa, still showing some of the original vibrant colours. Not sure if earthquake damage or just old age. Lots of new ones been/being built. Usually a bit gaudy for my taste. Tibetan buddhism is generally a bit over the top with colour, different gods and demons etc. Interesting to explore but think I prefer the simpler versions.

First day of real walking and it was up, up, up, as Dawa describes it. Very hot and hard going. Didn't feel that all those Munros were much help and after less than a quarter of the way had to swap rucksacks with him. Turns out mine was about 6/7kg heavier than the others. Must be the whisky. Or maybe the folding chairs, table and teasmade was a mistake.
