euromast

Euromast is an observation tower in Rotterdam, Netherlands, designed by Hugh Maaskant constructed between 1958 and 1960. It was specially built for the 1960 Floriade. Originally 101 m (331 ft) in height it was the tallest building in Rotterdam. It lost this position for a while, but regained it when the Space Tower was added to the top of the building in 1970, giving an additional 85 m (279 ft).

Colors from Foveon sensor sigma cameras have always been described as funky, am not sure what to make of it. The images though, do have a distinctive look.

Photographing the Euromast is not easy. Get too close and you lose it's grandeur, a little far away is not an option because you would have to stand in the middle of the river, so you are left with quite far away. This was the best I could come up with today.

Larger is more funky.
