Safe arrivals!!

An uncomfortable night at the hotel as the bed was considerably smaller than the super big one that we had on the ship.

After breakfast we were collected by the taxi from home that we had booked. It was a good job that this was already planned as we would never have managed the cases on the train with only one able bodied person.

I sat next to the driver, rather than on the back seat being rattled about. I was dreading this stage but it went well. The young man (age is relative .....he’s about R’s age) was so helpful, thoughtful and chatty. He wasn’t familiar with the M25 / Dartford Tunnel route, so I could help out with directions to get us safely onto the M11 north, easy when you know the route.

He had been a driving instructor and didn’t it show!!! Impeccable driving, no sudden braking etc, which would have caused even more pain.

Home to slowly empty the cases and create a mountain of washing, to be started tomorrow.

R brought Amber home. R had been at a lunchtime function and Amber at doggie day care. Such excitement, they were both pleased to see us so lots of hugs and kisses.

It is good to home after an interesting and enjoyable holiday, with the exception of ‘the ribs’ incident. Just need to recover, the targets being ‘getting in and out of bed’ and ‘getting dressed’ independently!!!!
