The battery door on my camera broke. It is attached with a pin and easy to replace, so I just needed to get the part.
Best Buy told me it was broken (duh that is why I was there) and they would have to send it out. It would be gone for 4-6 weeks and estimated the cost at $120.
A local camera shop also told me 4-6 weeks and estimated the cost at $150.
I looked it up online and could find the part, but called Canon's part department. Their customer service was great. In the end it was $13, including shipping, and took about 2 seconds to fix.
With that kind of mark up, maybe I should open a camera repair shop.
