In spite of the appearance, this was taken near ten o'clock at night, rather than during the day. A long exposure, wide aperture, and near full Moon all helped. The autofocus required the assistance of a torch... manual focus lenses can be so much easier at times. A better Moonlit effort from almost a year ago.
On the way back I passed by a garden which has at least three working dogs, that are kept in a pen. If you walk by in the day, they'll sometimes bark at you. Slow down, or pause as you pass by in the day, and they'll definitely bark at you. Night time they tend to keep fairly quiet, unless you linger nearby. They had me confused tonight. One seemed to be growling. That turned in to more of a prolonged and gentle howl. "Was it howling at the Moon?" I pondered. No. That was behind the clouds at the time. A few steps later and I realised. It was joining in with the wail of somebody playing the pipes across the road in the village hall. A few more steps later, and another two or three decided to join in with the tune, loudly. I was much amused. Don't know if the folk in the hall were...
