Stupa
Tourists again for the day and to Boudhanath to see the huge Stupa. This was the maintenance crew changing prayer flags and dressing the building with lights. The orange is water and dye that they throw from buckets to create the pattern. Fascinating place if very touristy. A strange mix of God and Mammon with lots of very clearly devout pilgrims plus with at least 7 monasteries close by, lots of monks, while surrounding the building are countless tourist shops selling the usual stuff plus lots of street hawkers.
To Patan, another part of the city, in the evening to have dinner with another blipper, Pratishka, and her husband (and ex blipper) Phil. Lovely meal and very good company and very kind of them to ask us. Friendly dogs plus a massive Christmas tree as well! Hope we get the opportunity to have them visit us in Argyll.
