Emergency blip
As my blip mojo has gone missing, here's my contribution to SecondSeason's Festive Features theme. I bought this wreath at the Fabrezan craft association's stall at the village Christmas fair yesterday. Also added to my bag: a small vial of saffron from the 250-gram harvest of a local producer.
On Friday evening, we were at the Centre Culturel for an evening of "mental magic". Jani Nuutinen uses mysterious mental powers to do mind-reading, able to discern what people are visualising, or the subject of a drawing they have placed in a sealed envelope. He also messed with other senses in tasting exercises where having had a blindfolded person sip three glasses flavoured with lemon, grenadine, and mint syrup, he managed to get her to identify the same three flavours when served with glasses of plain water.
Even odder was the way that having drawn the outline of a person's hand on paper, he could touch the paper behind her back and she felt him touch her hand. Or touch one person's nose and have another person feel it. It's all about manipulation, but in a non-negative way. Very intriguing; we couldn't work out how he managed to be so accurate.
