Logging In

The plan today was that with Clare working I was to get up around 0915-0930, have a leisurely cooked breakfast, start my newspaper and get the garden ready for the log delivery.
What actually happened was that having received a phone call from the ‘log man’ I got up at 0915, put the laundry in, cleaned and laid the fire, put my laundry away and did the washing up. A quick run down town to pick up another tarpaulin and then the ‘log man’ arrived.
Two cubic metres of logs were then dropped into the back lane at 1100.
Aside from a single cup of coffee I then worked continuously until 1500, moving and stacking the logs and then clearing and tidying the back garden.
Some shopping and a KFC completed the day but not before I found out the log moving had so scratched my fingers that my telephone security no longer recognises my finger print.
