Sunday Morning Mass, Notre Dame

We've done a lot of walking on what has been a grey, damp, raw day. We walked down to The Louvre via the Palais Royal. Being the first Sunday in the month, entrance to museums is free and the queues to get in were huge so we walked on down to the Ile de la Cite, wandered round the Sunday market and then on to the Ile Pont Louis to look in the smart shops and have a hot chocolate.

We got back to Notre Dame in time to witness the end of morning Mass, shown here with the Rose Window in the background. We also saw the amazing Nativity tableau behind the choir stalls.

From here we went on to the Musee D'Orsay but the queues were even longer so we had a spot of lunch then strolled through the Tuileries to Concord then back to the Louvre. By now the queue had died down so we were able to get in and see the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, before heading back to the hotel and an aperol.

Tonight we've eaten at a charming bistro in Montmartre where we were seated next to a couple from Washington DC and enjoyed a friendly chat with a very tasty meal. Now knackered!
