Variable Seedeater

We spent a lot of time on the road today - back to the Quito area - staying tonight in an amazing old hacienda - and then hitting the road tomorrow. We'll be crossing the continental divide tomorrow at something like 12,000 feet/4000 meters. Yikes!

This is one of the few birds I got a decent photo of when we stopped to bird on the road for a bit.
