Gosaikund
Wow, wow, and wow! Long walk up to the Laurebina pass to Gosaikund. What an amazing sight when get to the top. Highest so far at just over 4600mtrs. Lot of effort to catch ones breath. Some snow and ice as well.
Another hour or two to the lakes at Gosaikund, very holy site for Hindus. I thought it was an important site for Buddhists as well but not really according to the boys. Unfortunately, on arrival, 3 of 4 guesthouses closed by order of the local committee. Must have been at least 60 people looking for somewhere to spend the night. We got the attic with about 25 others. Invaded by tipsy porters and guides later on as they were evicted from the dining area by the late arrival of a bunch of trekking Nepali nurses! Been a long time since I went to bed at 6.00 but no option as had to take turns getting fed. Fair play to them, everyone got fed and got breakfast in the morning. Very long night though.
