Come On You 'Orns!!

Miss E and I had another fabulous day at Vicarage Road today watching Watford playing Spurs.
It makes me so happy that she loves it so much. Fifth generation Hornet!!
I kept hugging her all day and telling her how special it was and how much I love doing it together!
We got the train to Watford so Mr K and Miss L could get to the Christmas fairs at both schools this afternoon.
There were other Watford fans on the train and it's lovely for Miss E to feel that she's part of a tribe!!
We walked up to the ground and got chips before going in. Extra large portions with tons of salt and vinegar. Yummy!!!
I'd booked tickets in the Rookery End without realising that it's much rowdier and hardcore than it used to be when we went years ago. We stood for the entire ninety minutes, and sang and chanted the whole time.
Miss E was treated to some rather choice language. The referee being an "idiot" came up rather a lot, as well as telling lots of their players - and the referee - to "go away", and there was a fair bit of "oh for goodness sake".
She understands that there are different rules at the football and that we will not be using that kind of language! She thinks it's funny that it's our secret from Daddy or he'll never let us go to the football again!!!!!
In the end it was 1-1. They had a player sent off and we had two perfectly valid penalty claims turned down (the referee was indeed an idiot!!!) and we had a shot hit the post.
It was so frustrating to come so close to winning. But as Miss E very philosophically said at least we didn't lose!
Walking up to the ground earlier I was explaining about superstitions that football fans have and said that if we won 5-0 today then we'd have to everything exactly the same next time - same socks, getting the train, a portion of large chips each.
However if we lost we'd have to do everything differently!!
Walking back to the train after the game she was musing on the fact that we lost 1-0 the first time she came but drew 1-1 today. She said that next time we come we have to do some things the same as today and some things differently to ensure a win.
It was hilarious. She so got it!!!
We will be getting the train apparently but not having hot chocolate at half time. She will have a Twix as she did today but I'll have to have a Mars bar. And I'll have to wear the Watford hat that I bought after the match today as I wasn't wearing it when we lost or drew!!!
Such a brilliant day with my little Hornet.
