Not an island in the sun....

..... but a mountain poking its head up through the clouds!
We finally got our Sunset and Stargazing trip to the summit of Mauna Kea. The landscape and views were fantastic. We watched the sun set below the clouds from the summit right next to some of the most famous telescopes in the world. Then we descended to near the Visitor Centre for stargazing. We were lucky to have clear skies and the sheer amount of stars on view was amazing. We even spotted two shooting stars. Katie and I were trying our hand at astrophotography and it took us a while to get our settings right. In fact Katie did most of the work while I enjoyed the spectacle.
A lovely last night in beautiful Hawaii.
