Tour of Beijing - Losers
Never mind Elia Viviani taking the stage in a bunch sprint, just see the dejection on the faces of the losers.
Even for a race like the Tour of Beijing, which was slated last year for poor spectator numbers (I've a word to say about that too), this shows that if you're in it, you may as well try to win it! Although Andy Shleck doesn't have too much to offer in these stages (110km / pan-flat), so he rolled in toward the end.
I have to say though, for a finishing circuit which was around 8km, and not even 500m from East to West, it was remarkably difficult to get from one side of the circuit to the other. The organisers did a very bad job of organising this one, from the point of view of the spectator. I am very much in favour of maintaining rider safety, but they made it hard. I'm going to be writing a letter about it to them...
