Westmoreland Way - Part 5, Patterdale to Grasmere
Linear walks are great but sometimes the logistics of getting the right number of people and cars to the start of the walk and then the right number of cars to the end of the walk are mind-boggling. Thankfully the group leader does logistics very well. Todays walk was more complicated than usual as the two end points are quite some distance apart by road and involve the Kirkstone Pass.
It stayed mainly dry - there was some mizzle as we approached Grisedale Tarn, and it was only blowy in places but the skies were very grey. Thirteen people and one dog completed the 8.5 mile walk in very good time as it was quite cold being stationary for coffee and lunch breaks.
The view is from the climbing hut on the way up to the tarn looking back down Grisedale to Place Fell.
