Silly me

After a bit of gentle coaxing we got Arthur to do his homework: Descriptive sentences with a few adjectives and the odd simile.
When I was 8 I don't think I'd even heard of a simile so the education system must be getting better mustn't it?
Or maybe it all went in one ear and out the other like a fart in a colander - or suchlike.
