Dental Volunteers

My dentist closes his office every Friday and goes to treat the homeless. It was through him I found out about this 3-day volunteer event at the State fairgrounds for low-income or homeless people to have their teeth fixed. I was there for 6 hours today getting ready for tomorrow. 150 people will be xray'ed tonight to be treated 1st tomorrow. They started lining up last night and there are hundreds out there. Last year they were not able to treat everyone.

There are dentists that come from other states to do this. Technicians, hygienists, and a huge array of us volunteers doing various jobs. It is AWESOME to work with so many people with a social consciousness.
