A Nice Fur Coat
In the end, I forgot the time today, and so left it too late to pop into the Gauntlet Bird of Prey Centre, as was planned this afternoon. It is sited just next door to Fryers Garden Centre in Knutsford, and this was where me and MrsB were headed primarily. All is not well with MrsB at the moment, as she has the dreaded Thrips in the compost of her potted Curry-Leaf plant. If something bad happens to that well-pampered plant, her production of our Dhal staple will suffer tremendously - so emergency action was ordered requested.
I worked every Sunday for years through the mid 70s in a big Garden Centre in Otley, so they always used to feel like familiar places. That was until recently. Now, once you extract all the furniture, barbecues and bric-a-brac, from most of them, there is precious little gardening stuff and plants left behind. Friers is one such, and we struggled in truth to find any decent choice of treatments, and certainly no one on hand to advise.
As we left the house on the way though, a big bonus was running into next door-but-one neighbour Tracey (left) heading off to walk Dylan the Dog with her pal Lucy. Dylan has featured before in my earlier Labradoodle-ing blip, and incredibly he seems to be still growing like Digby, the Biggest Dog in the World.
I forced asked the ladies if they would pose on our front lawn for today's blip, and they reluctantly kindly obliged. MrsB predictably stood aside, as is her wont.
I said to Tracey that if anything ever happened to poor old Dylan she could always get a nice wooly coat made like Lucy's.
