Advent calendar - Day 6

The legionary's ghost walks the wall from fort to fort. From Housesteads to Chesters and then from Housesteads to Chesters again – with no return journey in between. In his world, it is always Winter and he is always cold. He was cold when he was a legionary and he is colder now that he is the ghost of a legionary. He came from what we now call Algeria. The Empire picked him up and deposited him at the Northern edge of the world. No-one knows why he walks his endlessly repeated route. Maybe he is just trying to keep warm.
