Level Crossing
One of the most annoying aspects of living where we live is having to cross this level crossing to travel anywhere. It seriously disrupts traffic and, on a busy day when I might make two return journeys to town, it can steal an hour of my life if I don't time it carefully.
That said, I have been thinking of blipping this fixture for some time and this evening was the chosen moment. Sadly, I forgot to check the camera before the adventure and the battery died after just three shots. This was the second of these shots, deliberately timed for the train to pass through. This it does at a crawl, given that it stops at the station platform on the left of the picture. With a slow shutter speed, there is an appearance of much greater train speed.
Next time I blip this scene, I will try to enhance the image by venturing out in the rain.
