Turbulent Aviatrix
I was invited by blipper FlyingPRGal to meet her and her friends at Damyns Hall Aerodrome, near Upminster in Essex, this afternoon for a cup of tea and the chance to photograph the Tiger Club’s Turbulent Display Team. They were putting their VW Beetle engined aircraft through their paces for the last time in 2017. She is a private pilot, represents the team and helps out with maintenance. It was beautifully bright and clear but absolutely freezing cold.
My pic is of team member Jules, a woman of a certain age who loves flying a variety of aircraft. Strangely I've never wished to learn to fly but I enjoy meeting and respect confident women in aviation including Jules, FlyingPRGgal and Sue Hart of Project Phoenix. :) I loved photographing the planes.
Today's poem is Methought I Saw My Late Espoused Saint by John Milton. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44746/sonnet-23-methought-i-saw-my-late-espoused-saint
Poor John Milton. He has lost his first and second wives and his sight. :( This is thought to be about his second wife Katherine Woodcock.
