Student of the Year 2017

What a mad day. Orchestra 09.30-10.30, church 12.00-12.45 for Will's 1st Reconciliation, Ballet School Xmas party 14.00-16.00 (we made it at 15.00), Christmas tree festival and the a party at the pool 18.15-20.15 for Will!

We arrived at the Ballet School party just at the end of the presentations (they must have started early as we got there at 3pm which is when I was told they would start). We saw one of C's friends get the cup C had previously for outstanding achievement, Carys was very pleased about that and then out of the blue Carys was called up herself to receive this cup and was named as Student of the Year 2017. She was very surprised and pleased but showed it in a modest way as she always does, mindful of other people's feelings.  Afterwards she went to say thank you to Sally for teaching her and helping her this year and ended up giving Sally a hug. I'm not sure who was more pleased with the hug, Sally's face was a picture as she is unused to the students hugging her. 

Carys managed to walk to Holy Saviour for the Christmas tree festival where we saw our tree, a Happy Hogwarts Christmas, amongst others and then home. She has decided to try Ballet Boost tomorrow, but will tell her teacher how ill she has been.
