Advent Calendar 2017 Blip #9

Thames Path - Final Day.
After 11 months and 2 days, Sarah and I finally reached the source of the River Thames.
It all felt a bit sad as we walked the last mile or so - the Thames became progressively narrower and shallower, occasionally becoming nothing more than a puddle in a leafy ditch then springing back into a reasonable flow, before finally becoming non-existent other than an indentation in a field.
I had expected that there would be some feeling of joy as we got to the source, as this was where the mighty Thames starts but it felt more akin to a slow death than a birth.  Maybe we should have started at the source.
