Secret Garden Found

It's our last day in Brighton and we went down to Rottingdean, the most lovely little village - we had a lovely walk along the seafront, looking up at the amazing white cliffs, then we walked back through the village past the duck pond and were about to get back in my car when I spotted a blue sign on a wall - Steve my hubby loves blue signs, then normally tell of someone famous who lived nearby or a local person who did something special.

When we went over to read the sign we found it was about Rudyard Kipling the poet and novelist who had lived there from 1897 to 1903. Further along the flint wall was a wishing well and then we spotted an entrance into what turned out to be the most lovely gardens. It had quiet corners perfect for reading, beautiful rose gardens, and a lovely croquet pitch complete with a couple of people playing croquet when we were there.

The perfect end to a perfect weekend - I could have sat in this lovely garden in the sun for hours.
