Trekking Day 5.

Phedi - Gosainkundu. 4380m
8hrs walking.

What a struggle! Uphill all the way, and everyone's feeling the effects of the altitude, especially me as I've developed a horrible cold :(
Scenery absolutely spectacular though. Walking over snow and ice for quite a bit of the day, which wasn't so nice.
Arrived at Gosainkundu to find that only one of the four guest houses was open, and more and more people kept arriving! No rooms left so we were shown to a space on the attic floor. What a night! Must have been about 25 of us in the attic, including a few drunken porters. I was lying above the kitchen, so was engulfed in garlic and kerosene fumes when we went to bed at 6.00pm, as there was no room for anyone to sit downstairs after eating, as people poured in.
Somehow we all got breakfast in the morning - there must have been 50 or 60 people staying overnight.
Feeling wrecked when we left in the morning.
