Oh Actual Christmas Tree
Here it is in all its glory. Well nearly all. I found another box of decorations after we’d finished but they can wait until tomorrow. This was the evening job right before me and Anna caught up on last night’s Michael Macintyre. Worth watching for the sketch about children alone. I do enjoy watching the kids enjoy jokes about what they were like when they were younger now they’re not doing any of that stuff. Especially when I get to remind them of stuff they have no recollection of but don’t mind being teased about as it feels so disconnected from their self image you might as well be describing a stranger.
Before all of that the day started with a cold, snowy, slushy dog walk for me and Carl. And Albi. Who, by the way, you will be thrilled to hear is doing brilliantly at hitting her targets on her activity monitor. Helped today by her giddiness at playing in her first ever snow. She is also sneaking in a splendid 22hours rest. Impressive stuff.
The dog walk ended in a slightly less relaxed fashion than usual when we realised that Anna’s lift to a party was arriving at the same time we would be getting back and that Anna wasn’t answering calls or messages. Because, it turned out, she was fast asleep in bed following the late night. Impressively enough she transformed from sleepy bedhead into smooth haired party ready in around 5minutes. She is fully prepped for the teenage years.
And I have managed to find quite a bit of reading time with the very excellent new Zadie Smith book, Swing Time, my brother got me for my birthday.

Ps - in very exciting present news we have decided I am having a mid-life crisis present. It won’t be here for Christmas but will definitely be blipped when it comes; hopefully in January...
