On Another Cold and Frosty Morning

This is the 9am view of Leven Terrace looking over to the castle from the south side of Bruntsfield Links, taken as I tripped jauntily but muffled up to the eyebrows against the sub zero temperatures, to the doctor. Although the paths were thick with frost, the grass seemed much less affected.

The pain in my sacro iliac region which has afflicted me for almost a year and appears when I straighten up from bending or get up from sitting, but not present when I indulge in any form of exercise, was unhelpfully absent when the doctor put me through my paces. Why does this happen so often? The threat of a visit to a dentist or clinician seems to work as a certain form of pain relief for a sore tooth or back.

I would hate him to think I was malingering when the pain could not be replicated. However he is referring me to an NHS physiotherapist, but I reckon with the waiting time involved in seeing one, I may well have made a slow recovery or have died. Either way the pain will have gone.

In other matters, the central heating boiler is playing up again- I thought you might like to know..............
