My country seat
I managed to get to the nature reserve today after failing yesterday due to so many fallen trees blocking the lanes. I dragged a bail of hay about half a mile and was very popular with our grazing Dexters. The snow across the open parts of the reserve was around a foot deep and more like 2ft where the wind had driven it. We've not had such a fall in the Chilterns for a few years. This seat is a memorial to Arthur Mount, who looked after Dancersend Reserve for many years before me and was Chair of the Chilterns Group of BBOWT, the local wildlife trust - a position I now hold.
