Leaving Argyll

The short ferry ride (well it seems short on a day like today; when it's blowing a gale it seems a lot longer, and probably is) from Hunter's Quay to McInroy's Point takes you out of Argyll, with all its Highland connotations, and into the business of the central belt - at least once you're round the corner and into Gourock. It's also where we have to go for most hospital clinics these days; despite the concession fares it's a pricey business seeing a medical specialist.

But the journey itself is often beautiful; this is one of a series of photos I took from the deck of the ferry. I chose this, the final one, because I like the straight wake pointing towards the distant snowy hills, and the red of the waiting ferry tied up at Hunter's Quay. We tried a bit of shopping while we were on The Other Side, but I was glad to escape and come home to the peace of Argyll.
