Pink . . .

. . . and then some!

Here's my contribution to the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This is an egg timer bought a number of years ago now in Munich. It works the opposite way to other egg timers, as the sand or crystals move upwards. A scientific friend once explained how this happened, but I can't remember now.

Unfortunately it currently works in an idiosyncratic way. It survived being handled by babies and young children, who are fascinated by it. But it didn't survive being left on a hot window sill for a few days, whilst the kitchen was being redecorated. So something happened and now, although it appears to work for a while, there can suddenly be a heap of crystals falling through all at once - quite dramatic, but rendering it totally useless for its original purpose!

What I hadn't realised, until I looked at Rittaleena's blip , was that today is The Day of the Girl. So a dual purpose blip!
