Bang to rights
In eighteenth-century France there lived a man who was one of the most gifted and abominable personages in an era that knew no lack of gifted and abominable personages.
I went to Gatwick early. I’m in a crowd waiting for the Gatwick Express, which is delayed because a customer has “taken sick” at Clapham Junction. What next?
BA customer service refuse to rebook my return flight, because I didn’t change it last night. Apparently this is now a “voluntary” change - nothing to do with yesterday’s delays. I queued up at the airport and Keven sorted me out. “We can do anything here.”
The flight leaves on time and I even get my veggie snack. The U-Bahn into Nüremberg is fast and I’m in my flat in no time. I dial up Google and head out to Veggieman Xpress, a highly rated organic restaurant.
I order the Big Lebowski, a satisfying salad of parsley, tomato, onion, hemp seed, and lemon juice. I sit with some staff who are having a birthday celebration. We talk Ubuntu, Apple, and organic farming. One of their friends recommends the castle, the modern art gallery, and the historical museum. The world famous xmas market is “full of the same old shit.”
