Christmas is coming to town

It looked so beautiful this morning trudging through the snow to go to work.
The reality was sludge and puddles and avalanche warnings level 4. As the temperatures dropped during the day and it froze, the ground became a skating rink.
In my short escape this afternoon, 15 minutes on the ungroomed semi-saturated cross-country piste was enough to feel I'd had a proper workout!
