Swing it
After seeing nothing of interest at Sandy Beach, I went on to Makapuu. Late afternoon, little after 5PM. You could feel a cold front moving through with the temperature dropping and the wind veering to northerly, as forecasted. Dallying on the steps to the lookout, I heard a voice say . . . " . . the launch pad is over here." Well, I waited to see what would happen. Four guys went to a van and brought back two large bags which they quickly unpacked. It was a curved seat, helmet, a mass of lines and a pouf of colourful nylon. Two quickly strapped in, sorted the lines, then regathered them, climbed over the rock wall, walked a few steps and launched off the cliff face! The first guy was a show-off. He hovered, floated by, hugged the rock face, walked the railing of the lookout, disappeared and reappeared repeatedly, all making it look effortless. Then he started swinging the glider like a pendulum (main shot). At one point he incrementally went completely over in a circle, swinging his way around.
In the extra, he is swinging up from under the cliff, appearing suddenly vertical. Sorry, it is not in focus.
